Floating Beach Club / Marine Hospitality

The vision of OSHUN is to create a floating destination where mythology, nature, and hospitality converge into a single immersive experience. Inspired by the sacred Osun-Osogbo grove and the mythology of the river goddess Oshun, the project transforms the vessel into a symbolic city that celebrates life, prosperity, and connection with water.

The architectural concept is inspired by the legend of Oshun and the sacred city of Osogbo, where the goddess protects and blesses the land and its people. The floating beach club is envisioned as a reimagined city rising from a resurrected ship, symbolizing rebirth, prosperity, and protection.

sacred Groves Terrain

The tiered design of Oshun’s city mirrors the layered structure of sacred groves, with each level symbolizing distinct realms of divine presence and spiritual significance. This multi-level arrangement houses altars and shrines dedicated to Oshun, creating an immersive sacred space that encourages exploration and meditation. Each tier offers a unique encounter with the divine, fostering a journey of spiritual ascent and deepening connection with the deities. This architectural concept embodies the harmonious blend of nature, spirituality, and community in the heart of Oshun’s blessed sanctuary.

prosperity Belt

The brass belt represents Oshun’s protective embrace, while the golden lines symbolize her spells and blessings of prosperity. The belt will encircle the Ship, fading with intricate patterns on the brass belt that represent Oshun’s spells of protection & prosperty.

healing Aura

The aura represents Oshun’s continuous protection over the tribe and their covenant. Surrounding the ship and the river with a gentle, glowing aura, suggesting a magical barrier infused with Oshun’s blessings, represented in subtle golden outlines.

oshun’s Ambers

Oshun’s ambers symbolizes the modular form of the hull, representing her power raising the sunken ship as the reimagined city of Oshogbo, a city that has been metaphorically resurrected. Through this representation, the project explores themes of rebirth and transformation, intertwining the historical and cultural significance of Oshun with the resilient spirit of Oshogbo.

Floating Structure & Technology

The structure is supported by a modular floating hull system composed of multiple interconnected floating modules that create a stable platform for the beach club. Key structural features include:

Modular floating hull components

Reinforced structural ribs for stability

Water-permeable modular layout allowing wave passage

Durable marine construction materials

Platform designed for long-term marine conditions

The modular system allows individual sections to be removed for maintenance without requiring the entire vessel to be dry-docked, improving operational efficiency and durability.

Landscape & Atmosphere

The landscape concept is inspired by Oshun's sacred groves, integrating vegetation, shaded terraces, and tropical elements across the deck. The design introduces:

Tropical vegetation and garden terraces

Palm trees and natural planting areas

Shaded seating structures

Wooden decking and natural materials

Water features integrated with seating and circulation

These elements create an atmosphere that blends beach club leisure with the symbolism of sacred natural landscapes.
